Lesser consumption of animal products is necessary to save the world from the worst impacts of climate change, UN report says

A global shift towards a vegan diet is vital to save the world from hunger, fuel poverty and the worst impacts of climate change, a UN report said today.

As the global population surges towards a predicted 9.1 billion people by 2050, western tastes for diets rich in meat and dairy products are unsustainable, says the report from United Nations Environment Programme's (UNEP) international panel of sustainable resource management.

Well, now. The corporate media up in the Twin Cities has taken note of the fact that Carrie Feldman has been sitting in jail for three months now for refusing to testify before a grand jury about things she knows nothing about.

Vegan prisoner Marie Mason’s health worsens as prison continues to deny her vegan food.

Marie Mason is asking for all supporters to send letters and faxes to the prison and request she be provided with vegan food.

Marie Mason is serving nearly 22 years for pleading guilty to numerous A.L.F. and E.L.F. actions, including an arson at a chicken distributor, and the torching of a mink farmer’s boat.

Anti-whaling group Sea Shepherd has accused the crew on board a Japanese whaling vessel of lying about the circumstances of a confrontation in the Antarctic.

Sea Shepherd has called for an apology from the Japanese Government, which claimed the activists attacked crew members aboard a Japanese whaling vessel by throwing rancid butter bombs at them.

But the captain aboard the Sea Shepherd vessel in the Antarctic, Paul Watson, says video footage shows the Japanese crew shot themselves in the face with capsicum spray.
